Welcome to Eagle Class, our class teacher is Mr. Stephen and our teaching assistants are Miss. Kenny and Mrs. Beckett.

Our topic this term is Italian Adventure – we recently had a Roman soldier visit the school who helped bring ancient Rome back to life! We are studying life in Roman Britain, and will be moving on to study life in modern Italy as part of our Full Italian Adventure.

Our termly topics provide the basis through which many of the National Curriculum subjects are taught, such as Literacy, Art and Design, History and Geography. These topics really engage the class and create great motivation to learn. Our day trips really enhance the learning experience, and have included visits to the local library, Duxford, Shuttleworth Bird Centre, Hazard Alley, and last year to Legoland.  This is in addition to the exciting visits we get in school, such as the mobile planetarium and clay workshops.

Our aim is for the children to be ready to move on to Middle School with confidence and happy in the knowledge that they are well prepared for the next big step in their education. 

Note:

PE days this year are Tuesday and Wednesday. PE kits should contain both indoor and outdoor wear (shorts, t-shirt, outdoor jumper/hoodie, jogging bottoms, trainers). However please ensure PE kits are in school for the whole week as we sometimes have sporting events/coaching visits on other days where sports kits will be needed.

Homework is set each Friday, and completed homework should be handed in by the following Thursday. Homework includes a set task in homework books, as well as spellings and times tables to learn. Spellings and tables tests take place every Friday.
